That's right - the "Poop-Loop!" And rightly named because it is next to an old sewer treatment plant. The smell in the air on a hot summer day might stink, but the riding here doesn’t! Think BMX crossed with Downhill style trails that create a matrix of single track that rips through the forest, through streams and down hills (of course you have to go up first).
Park on the side of the road at the end of Onderdonk Rd (just before the fence / gate). You will see the paved bike path cross Onderdonk Rd. Start out riding West / to the Right on the bike path until you see the trail head(s) on your right. The first one heads into a field and up a short step hill. Once on top you can head straight into the woods and ride the real flowie BMX-like trails or turn left and hit a Downhill section that takes you into the larger trail network. Be warned some of this land is private – watch for signage!
Directions:
Take Rt 87 (the Northway) toward Schenectady and exit at Rt 7 East. Immediately after you exit get in the right-hand lane (before the traffic light) and then veer right onto Forts Ferry Rd. Stay on Forts Ferry Rd for a mile or two (maybe three) and then turn Right onto Onderdonk Ave, which is a dead end road. Take it all the way till the end and park on either side of the road.
