Ragged Mt offers rock climbs up to 120 feet in length and from 5.3 to 5.12 on the Yosemite decimile scale. It is generally acknowledged that the ratings of CT climbs are fairly STIFF. The approach trail is about 1 mile long , easy walking but uphill, through open woods.
Directions:
See Rock Climbing in CT, a guide book by David Fasulo (Falcon Press), or consult the Ragged Mountain Foundation (RMF) website for driving and parking directions. The RMF is a climbers/land preservation organization which owns the cliff and maintains the property to preserve access. The cliff is located off Reservoir Rd in Southington, CT and parking is on local streets so carpooling is recommended to reduce impact and maintain access.
