This is a great hike to split over two days as it’s really a long way up to the top of Mt. Washington. Hike up the Rocky Branch trail and set up camp at the Rocky Branch #2 shelter. It's situated on the side of a river so it's a great place to hang out and relax. If you are willing, take the Isolation trail north to the intersection of Davis Path. Davis Path runs all the way north to the top of Mt. Washington. You can either turn around and head back to the shelter by the same route, or do a loop down Glen Boulder trail to the Avalanche Brook ski trail and back to the Shelter. You can even head back to your car and back to North Conway to the Muddy Moose!
Directions:
From North Conway, head north on Route 16 approx 8 miles after 16 separates from Route 302, there will be a trailhead and parking on the left. On the right you will see the trailhead to Halls Ledge Trail.
