I know guys that session this trail 4 to 7 times in a day, shuttling up and down Rosehill Road. This trail was featured in Torque 3. Locate Rosehill road on a Kamloops map. Leave a car at the bottom, shuttle to the top turnaround spot just after the water tower and down you go. Keep your eyes open on the way down for alternate routes. No need to worry, everything ends up in the same area near the car. Look for airs, steeps, flume rides down dried up creek beds with banked corners, a banked slalom style spot and a lot of high speed loving.

NOTE: Attached map shows some other well known riding areas (and not so well known, i.e. a whole series of former dirt-biker gravity bowls that ride one to another, see "dips", on map), and Razorback, another trail in the area. If you do visit, stay on the trails, close all gates, stay off private land. All these trails are not on private land, but, some riders are "curious" and seek out spurs off trail. Don't do it, or this area is toast.

Directions

Above map should help you locate Rosehill Road (near trailerpark on South end of kamloops). Pretty simple.

Comment Do yourself a favour and leave a car at the Petro or at the end of Valleyview drive or another spot in Dallas. Rio comes out at the trailer park

Anyone else with similar 'razor' rides in the area?

Downside Very steep in sections, there is some controversy over land access, but in fact this trail is not on private land at all, some riders however are taking spurs into private land, and that ruins it.

Comment Stick to the trail only. Else this area will be lost. Better alternatives, and possibly better riding are Mt. Harper (see entry on trailpeak), Sunpeaks, Razorback, and Greenstone. Check with www.kamloopsbikecamps.com for latest.

Downside It's on private land and won't be around long....new development is looming!!

By woodchipPosted By: woodchip  - Tue Nov 12 04:45:36 EST 2002 Not Rated Upside Easy shuttle, lots to play and sesh out on. Big stuff if your game.

Downside Lots of trafic, can be dusty, but small price to pay.

Comment Great trail, jumps galore, drops that are natural and built. Locals make it look easy.

This is an amusement park for biking. Every turn offers a multitude of lines, allowing you to play with the trail the better you know it. Rose Hill is a stream of trails that follow a steep ravine down this mountain, every turn offers a jump, high line, low line, hip ride, the possibilities are endless. The first time down we spent almost an hour exploring the trail, by the last run of the day (5th run) we went from top to bottom in less than 10 minutes. Every time I'm in Kamloops I'll ride Rose Hill. It is gauranteed to amke you feel like a superstar. And if you like road gaps, there is a pretty big one up there with a very steep run out. Oh yeah, Rose Hill is steeep, and during high traffic times in the summer the thick layer of fine dust on most of the trail can make it as slippery as CBC (mt. Seymour) on a wet day.
