It’s an odd name for a trail, it’s an odd name for a place, but the Siphon Draw Trail is a very popular trail in the Tonto National Forest. Access is generally through Lost Dutchman State Park near Apache Junction, AZ. There are other access points available nearby but parking there could be limited. It’s also the most difficult. But none of the trails here are difficult (see ‘Treasure Loop’). It also leads to the much more difficult ‘trail’ to The Flatiron at the top of Superstition Mountain.
The trail is 4 miles, return, and climbs 1,180’. At the end is a scoured out, sloped basin area with a waterfall when moisture affords it. The trail is well maintained to this point. Return the way you came.
Directions:
Lost Dutchman State Park is about 5 miles east of Apache Junction on Hwy 88 (the Apache Trail).
