Squantum Point is a small park that sits on the southern portion of Dorchester Bay. It features several trails that run along cliffs above the ocean and through trees further inland. The views of Boston Harbor are fantastic from the trails. There are couple small peninsulas that sit atop cliffs and give a panoramic scene of the ocean. This is a great place to take a short hike and with a camera. Give yourself about an hour to explore the short trail loops. Bird watching is also popular here. The trails are quite rocky, especially towards the shore. One should also be careful of drastic drop offs near the cliffs.
Directions:
Take US-1 South to exit 12, Rt 3A South. Continue over the Neponset Bridge onto Quincy Shore Drive and bear left on East Squantum Street. Turn left and take Victory Road into the Squantum Point parking lot
