On the west side of Thacher Park there is an extensive array of trails for year 'round fun! On the opposite side of the road from the classic "park and lookout" and Indian Ladder Trail you will find a couple of parking areas with trailheads leading into the trail system. Some moderately steep areas but nothing too strenuous... great for hiking, snowshoeing, mountain biking and x-country skiing. We have even seen families sledding down some of the trails after a good snowfall! The trails are well marked and maps are usually available at the trailheads. The trails are a series of loops so you can spend as much or as little time as you like... just keep adding loops for more!
From I90 take exit 4 to merge onto RT-85 S toward Voorheesville/Slingerlands and drive 12.3 miles. Take a slight right at RT-157/Thacher Park Rd and drive about 2.8 miles to the Hop Field parking on the left (w/ bathrooms). About .7 miles after this is the Paint Mine parking on the left.
