On the west side of Thacher Park there is an extensive array of trails for year 'round fun! On the opposite side of the road from the classic "park and lookout" and Indian Ladder Trail you will find a couple of parking areas with trailheads leading into the trail system. Some moderately steep areas but nothing too strenuous... great for hiking, snowshoeing, mountain biking and x-country skiing. We have even seen families sledding down some of the trails after a good snowfall! The trails are well marked and maps are usually available at the trailheads. The trails are a series of loops so you can spend as much or as little time as you like... just keep adding loops for more!
