Head out of parking lot by the harbor for a few yards before entering the woods. Head up long steps to the right and gain the main loop. This trail will go thru some lush coastal wood and eventually pass a small beach access. Continuing on, you'll gain the actual knob in roughly 1/2 mile of hiking. A great vantage point of Buzzards Bay and some major exposure to what ever the weather has in store at that moment.
Returning into the woods, you can cut right (westerly). This will complete the loop. There are a couple of accesses down to the waters edge on the harbor side. Trail stays in woods. Nice and cool on a hot day. Also, a fun snowshoe on the rare occurance that 10"+ inches of snow falls on Cape Cod. Go early as the snow rarely lasts long! This is an A+ family trail!!!
Directions:
South on Rt 28 from Bourne rotary. Go until Rt 28 narrows to a two lane road. When Rt 28 veers left, go right toward Woods Hole. At the next full set of lights, turn right onto Quisset harbor road. Follow this to the end and park in designated parking at the harbor. (limited on busy weekends!). Don't forget to visit EMS, Hyannis while visiting the Cape! (508) 362-8690
