Description

Tipping's Pond (also sometimes called Tippin's Pond) is located at the top of Massey Drive, a small suburb of Corner Brook, Newfoundland's second largest city. The municipal government has recently developed the area into a small recreation park that makes a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and get some exercise. There are a couple of picnic tables and bathroom facilities nearby and the park is supposed to be developed further in the next few years.

A flat and easy 2km walking trail winds its way through spruce and balsam forest and is often enjoyed by different people walking or jogging in the run of a day. Songbirds and snowshoe hares are sometimes seen along the trail and even the occasional moose!

The pond itself is a great place to dip your paddle. The 2km pond is fairly shallow and makes a great place to touch up on your paddling skills. Ducks and geese are often sighted, and again moose are sometimes seen on shore.

For a small park that is located at the edge of a major city this is a great place to get out and enjoy some fresh air. It can be enjoyed by any age or skill level and is a great place for the whole family.
