A pleasant grind up from the Sea to Sky Highway takes you through a bit of old growth forest. Once past the initial hour or so of elevation gain, an easy walk along old logging roads leads us to a rock outcropping with a splendid view of Howe Sound. If the Chief is too crowded for you, then this well-maintained hike might just astound with the solitude it can provide.
Travelling North on the Sea to Sky Highway, look for the "M" creek bridge about 3 kilometres North of Lions Bay. The The BC Highways pullout is only about 100 metres North of the bridge, but is accessible only to Southbound traffic, so you will need to find a safe place to turn around beyond the pullout. The trailhead is on the East side of the highway, at the North end of the parking lot. A 6x8 sign marks the entrance.

UpsideNice workout easier than grouse grind and nobody there on a weekday that is. Nice view. DownsideA bit short for the drive from where i live but had to be done. CommentTook only 3 hours for me. A tick was attached to my arm as i was driving home. It was a bit painful thought it was just a thorn or scratch and when i looked it was a big tick. Took me 3 tries to remove it.

UpsideBeautiful empty trail. Great view at the end. Short enough that you can sleep in and still go for a good hike. Difficult enough that this doesn't make you feel hopelessly lazy. The dog adored this trail. DownsideApparently there is a spot on the trail where there are some wasps. They didn't bother us so no big deal. CommentGreat trail directions here: http://www.straight.com/blogra/654586/tunnel-point-trail-leads-sweeping-views-howe-sound?comment_mode=1#add-new-comment
Basically, once you dash across the road and find the trailhead (small yellow sign North of the pullout), it's impossible to get lost. The trail marking and sign posting is excellent. Follow the yellow square to the first intersection (when you see it, you'll know), go left and go left again at the sign pointing to the lookout. Eat lunch, breathe, and enjoy being in this awesome space.

QuestionCan I start this trail where you start the lions bay hike? I'm terrible at finding the beginning of trails and sometimes end up hiking other trails.
Please let me know.
