Paved path along the WID Canal (Western Irrigation District). Level and flat all the way. It's 26km (one way)from Max Bell to the end at Chestermere Lake. The only potential for added difficulty is wind.
It's possbile to raft the canal until just before the head words just east of Chestermere

Park at Max Bell Arena or at the Zoo. Irrigation Canal path begins just north of Max Bell Area but can be accessed from Zoo via pedestrian bridge which crosses the Deerfoot.
