The easiest way is to go up Pack Monadnock is by the Wapack trail. It's a well marked (yellow blazed) trail, but it does go uphill and there are some rocky scrambles. When you get to the top, you can make fun of all the people who drove up the Auto Road (ala Mt. Washington!) to see the view. There are picnic tables available as well as a fire watchtower and shelter. There is usually a ranger on duty who can tell you all about the 360 degree view that's all around you. See the sights on the red-blazed Summit Loop Trail and continue down the Marion Davis Trail and back to the car.
Directions:
The trail starts at the Miller State Park parking lot off Route 101 just east of Peterborough, NH. It's just across the street from Temple Mountain.
