The Mission woodlot has been painstakingly created by a small group of riders who have built a mountain biker's paradise of twisting ramps, ladders, jumps, and steep descents. The woodlot is on par with the North Shore, some say better.
The trails shown here that are very popular include;
B-Line Cabin Trail (Goldmine) Heckyl and Jeckyl Hoots Upper and Lower Toadstool Mandatory Caution(Fluffy Kitten) Platinum Quickhit Shotgun The Gate Tsuga
Ride out to where you started using one of the lower trails (our 3D map shows one lower option, the topo another). Use the GPS way points to find each trail head - click on "download GPS to see a preview map and distances". A great out and bike day outing if you follow this route.
You can't shuttle, so, the hike/bike up and ride down these trails will keep you busy for the day. The hike/ride up the skidder trail to Gold & Crazy Carpenter will take about an hour. But once you get up top, there are lots of sturdy ladders and you'll want to play over and over on the logs, ladders, and jumps. Bring spares, first aid gear, friends, water, and, respect for the local trails.
To get to the woodlot from Vancouver, take Hwy #1 from Vancouver to Port Coquitlam. Take the Lougheed Hwy heading into Port Coquitlam. Make sure you take exit '7' (not 7b United) just before the Port Mann bridge. A favourite meeting place is the Starbucks at Pineview mall. After that (or if you didn't stop) get on Lougheed Hwy heading East, and, after 10 minutes or so, when you get near the big Staples, turn left onto Dewdney Trunk Road, drive all the way through Maple Ridge, keep going on Dewdney Trunk Rd., then, left on 287th, and drive to the end of the road going straight (i.e. don't take the road going left at the end). You'll see the parking lot straight ahead -- there is usually always someone riding on weekends, so you'll see the parked cars and trucks.

UpsideThis used to be one of the only places I rode 10 years ago. Every weekend we'd go to the woodlot and I would hit EVERYTHING down the mountain like it was not even a challenge anymore...But still fun as heck!
DownsideThe trails are pretty beat up down gold, carpenter, blood donor and such...I think those are the trail names of the line I take down
CommentI am here SPECIFICALLY TO FIND THE CURRENT BUILDERS working the woodlot. I am a very experienced carpenter that can rebuild these trails in my sleep and would like to speak to the guys associated with these trails to help rebuild the wood sections of the trail. I am looking for you guys out of respect for the trail builders because I dont want to offend anyone but I must get involved because I love this mountain and want to see the trails back to the condition they were back before my old TEAM DH got stolen. If anyone reading this knows anyone involved with rebuilding this mountain PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me their email...Thx

UpsideNice local ridding hotspot, looks like something straight out of a video, lots of easy trails to start on, and work your way up (the higher u go the crazier it gets)
Downsidethat damn walk up. and the trails (especially shotgun) are starting to show signs of wear and tare
Commentawsome place, except its in maple ridge not mission, and that map is soo wrong, its missing many of the smaller trails on it

UpsideThis is a very good mountain. I know people that can go up there for 12 hour days in the summer and go up the mountain like 5 or 6 times...I enjoy the ladders and gap jumps there....Enjoy
DownsideThe hike up is about an hour sometimes hour and a half. Some trails aren't marked out very well. I haven't yet to get lost but I've heard of some people that do.
CommentA couple trails that aren't on the 3D Map are Platinum and The Cabin (Which goes into snakes and ladders). Platinum is just up past gold, I think its inbetween the 2nd and third power pole. The cabin and snakes and ladders and just up from the Powerlines about 15 - 20 minute walk but its mostly flat. The cabin is mostly old school stuff but Snakes and Ladders has some good drops and jumps. After the cabin Snakes and Ladders is just across some rocks on an angle down sorta...Its not really hard to miss....Those are the two trails I recomend. Enjoy, Don't get lost!!

UpsideI reccomend that you DO NOT go to Gold. Instead go to Crazy Carpenter. Gold is in the process of being redone, and should be closed. I highly reccomend Snakes and Ladders as well.
DownsideNone

UpsideSweet Sweet Sweet
DownsideLong climb up but, Sweet Sweet Sweet
CommentOk, first, the nearest city is not Vancouver. It is Mission or Maple Ridge. Second there are alot trails missing on the map. Two that I know that aren't on there are Hoots and Shotgun. The higher you go up the harder the trails become. The trails are maintained super well and it is pretty much built to the North Shore or Whistler standard. Sweet.

UpsidePlatnum is simple amazing. Some very nice building. Basically it's Whistler's A-Line with gaps instead of tables and a bunch more built up stuff. Easy routes around almost everything if you don't want to try it..........like me.
DownsideNo Downside.

UpsideLots of tricks and ladders with a couple of exciting teeter-totters with some wicked exits
DownsideLong hike up although forgotten within the first 5 mins.Bent front rim on gold and broke front brake line 10 mins. later but mickey-moused it so as to ride down rest of way with only rear brakes.
Commentwish I was more experienced for the wild jumps and DEFINITELY needing shin pads!

UpsideWell built trails tons of stunts. Something for everyone. There is way more trails there then they show on the sight
Downsidehour long hike up is hard
Commentfollow the directions up. DO NOT TAKE TRAILS WITH NO NAMES. I have learned this the hard way it will look like a good trail and then 20 minutes down it is a dead end! This happens all the time and you can get lost on the 4x4 roads that go from miles and miles around there

Upsidefirst time I've experienced ladders and logs, really used my new Brodie for the first time. Found a really good excuse to buy new armor.
DownsideFound out how out of shape I am on the hike up, Realized how sharp my new pedals are on "gold", recieved split upper lip during log accident on "Blood Donor". Had to ask the wife how to get blood out of my new shorts.....
CommentExcellent trail sections and the downhill run through gold, blood donor and giant killer were more than worth the agony of an hour long hike. But could people with unfriendly dogs please keep them on a leash so they don't attack groups of riders.....
