This is a short hike that will lead you to a spectacular limestone solution cave. First, circumvent the agricultural field located to the east of the road so as not to trample the plantings. Then you will find yourself in a low and wet alder stand. Keep forging ahead in a ENE direction. Soon you will enter a mostly coniferous stand and will be going uphill. The terrain around the cave is full of dips and hills so it’s good exercise. There are probably a few more entrance to this cave system but this one is large one and easily accessible.
As of April 2011, there is an outbreak of white nose syndrome in bats in the Maritimes. Since this syndrome can wipe out whole bat population and this cave is a known bat hibernaculum, I have deleted all the coordinates that lead to this cave. I hope you all understand.
The entry to the cave is a few feet high and you have to be careful entering as the slope is quite steep for a few feet. You can easily spot a game trail going into the cave to the left of the entrance. Once inside you will be rewarded with a huge chamber with a very high ceiling. This is truly one of Nova Scotia’s hidden gem.

From the first Windsor exit on the 101, take highway 14 towards Brooklyn. Keep following highway 14 to Woodville.

Upsideit was fun!
DownsideIm directionally impared! Turned onto Scotch Villiage Station Rd (as told). Set odometer to zero..drove 600m. As told. And came to nothing that really quite fit the description. So..only downside was ME. Nice work!
CommentFantastic "treasure" hunt! Had a blast doing it! Was so very excited upon finding the entrance. Really felt like I was searching for lost treasure. Then being in the cave. Just a fabulous sense of accomplishment!
