If you paddle left after passing under th MD 234 bridge you have a very good chance of seeing a bald eagle if your there before noon. There are lots of small creeks to explore has you go along and are worth the side trip. Make sure to come off of Allen's Fresh at the end of your day and travel up Zekiah Swamp.
Directions:
Four miles north of the Potomac River, turn onto MD 234/Budd's Creek Rd. Follow MD 234 for about 1 mile. Immediatley after crossing a bridge over Allen's Fresh Run/Zekiah Swamp you should look for a dirt road on your left. It is about 100 feet past the first bridge and before the second bridge. The dirt road is unmarked, so drive slowly or you will miss it. It is a badly potholed paved road, with trees hugging both sides. The road ends at the water. At the end of the road there is an unofficial kayak landing. If paddling with a group make sure to carpool as there is not much parking.
