Hiking trail; Views

LENGTH/TIME: 900m/30mins up

HIGHLIGHTS: This trail is all about the view at the top. The lower trail is beneath a second growth Douglas Fir forest, while the top of the hill is a dry, rocky, open expanse of Pender Harbour – “the Venice of the North.” Pack a picnic and take advantage of the scenery of bald eagles, wildflowers, and arbutus trees. This is one of the most popular and the most highly recommended of all the Sunshine Coast trails.

ACCESS: 5km north of Madeira Park, turn west (left) off Hwy 101 at the Petro Canada gas station onto Garden Bay Road. At a junction 4.5km along Garden Bay Road continue straight ahead on Irvine’s Landing Road. After 8.1km from the gas station turn right onto Lee Road and proceed 1km to a sign indication the trailhead.

TERRAIN: Short, steep trail leading to the best view of Pender Harbour.
