Regarding trail Howe Sound Crest (St. Marks Summitt) near Vancouver, BC

would this trail be okay to do now(May 20th)? Or is there too much snow still?

Still lots of snow on this trail. Plenty of people do these trails in winter, but you have to be at least a little Avi Savvy, have the avalanche gear, and know how to use it.

With the spring freeze/thaw cycle around this time of year, you can get anything from a mountain of bullet proof boiler plate ice, to avalanche prone afternoon slush. My personal recommendation would be to give it another two weeks to a month.

I did the trail today (June 14th) and no problem. Mind you, I only ventured in about 2 km. Hardly anyone there and perfect weather - not too hot and not too cold.
