Hi there! Im new to hiking in Canada, do you have to have permits from the ranger to hike this trail? Im looking forward to exploring! Thank you!

Hi there Holcraw. Yes you do need a permit. The trail is so popular that it is advisable to reserve in advance. http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/bc/pacificrim/activ /activ6a/iii.aspx
If you just show up, you may easily go on the standby list. If so, you could hike to Keeha Bay while you are waiting. Despite it being pretty flat, and not that far, it is a challenging hike.
