Is it possible to camp somewhere to split up the hike into two days?

Yes, right on the top. Did not see any restrictions doing this when visited. Nice spot to camp overnight, but......no firewood or water available. Bring enough water with you when you do so. If you want water and a bit shadow, then you can camp a little bit down the trail from the top, there is a neat "camp" looking spot in there, but the view isn't that great as from the top.

There‘s a number of good spots on the route. Of note would be the helicopter landing area (Don‘t camp there!!) but nearby is good. Since a good portion of the route is fire access trails they are nice and wide if a bit rocky. The upper parts are much more wild and wetter/colder and I would not recommend. Right before the trail leaves the fire access route and goes into the thick bush would be the best spot for you.
