Regarding trail Juan de Fuca trail near Victoria, BC

Hi there,

planning to hike the JDF in late April/early May with our 16 month old. Wondering about conditions typical for April and if others have done this trip with infants. Also, recommended trail guides/maps? Thanks for any advice etc!

KSR:
We did the hike mid September which wasn't advised because it gets really cold but the cold or rain ... this was not a problem. April/May if it had been raining a lot could be dicey. Lots of spots on the trail are very slippery and sketch - we slipped a few times just walking ourselves. I'd say the hardest part is near Bear Beach. We saw a couple people on day hikes with their infants from Sombrio to Bear which wasn't difficult terrain.

Let me know if you want any other info - I found it difficult to find information on the hike here and not a lot of responses on the forum.

If its been decently dry, then as late May as possible would be best. It gets quite chilly at night with the wind as well so just bring layers.
