Some fun single track, a bit of double, and some great sweeping views. Coral Canyon is a fun time, with some creek crossings, a few technical areas, but mostly fast and flowing. It's has a slight Moab taste to it. Hook onto the backbone trail that winds it's way across the Santa Monica mountain range and have a blast. The best route is to take the trail at the foot of the parking lot down into the valley. Follow it as far as you like. On the way back, follow the motorway/fire road up for some nice views and a alternate route to descend back to the parking lot you left off from.
Take the Coral Canyon road, on the southern edge of Malibu, East/away from the ocean, until it ends in a parking lot. The trails all leave from the parking lot. This lot is about 3/4 of the way up the mountain. The best trail leads down into the valley and then back up above the lot, finally down into the lot again.
