The Montane trail is suitable for the absolute beginner or families with strollers.This trail is a 1.8 km loop. various geological features such as drumlins and eskers can be examined while hiking here. Interpretative signs are located along several locations. After walking on an esker, the trail 'descents' into a dense forested area. Many large trees can be observed here.
Leave Canmore heading east 27 km on highway #1. Or leave Calgary heading west on highway #1, 5 kilometers after the highway #40 intersection. At exit #114 head north to Seebe/Exshaw. At this point you will be on highway 1X. The Bow valley provincial park entrance is to the west of the highway. The trail head is exactly located at the visitor information center.
