This is a great little river to canoe. Lots of sharp turns and a few drops. Not Enough water in the summer to canoe, best in the spring thaw and after a heavy rain in the fall. This river goes past some fields and for the most part stays away from peoples backyards.
There are lots of nice spots to stop for a break and enjoy the day and maybe do some fishing if that is your thing. A friend and I first canoed this river on October 29, 2011 and there were some spots that did not have enough water. We put lots of new marks on the bottom of the canoe and had a blast doing it.
Not sure how long this river actually is, just had to enter a number to beable to list this river. I plan on doing this river in the next couple of weeks and wil measure the length then.
Take Highway #311 from Truro towards the north shore. Turn Right onto McKenzie Settlement Road. The river is right there and it is a good spot to leave a vehicle.
