This is an amazing hike. It gives you every thing that you want out of the rockies. The lakes are great. The views are amazing, and there are not that many people. There are also alot of options for day hike when you get there. You can also carry your trip on deeping into the rockies(we did, it was great). I'm not sure on the km of it, but it's worth while to keep following the path. (Ed. - 12km one way)
In winter please check the local avalanche bulletins.
Drive to Banff, from Banff go to sunshine ski resort. You need to buy a parking pass in Banff. From sunshine it's an easy trail to follow. There are numerous camp sites, which you have to register with the park board (the same place you buy your parking ticket.) Besides that, it's a well marked trail.

QuestionHello, i am new to hiking and would like to hike to some natural hot springs. Ideally start at Miette near Jasper. Our group is all new and have never really hiked, however, everyone is in good shape. Would there be any hikes in the Jasper area, or in close proximaty. Please let me know, and thank you.

UpsideFairly easy for an overnighter - nice day trips from the camp ground at Egypt. DownsideI'm probably just spoiled - but there are far nicer hikes in the Rockies - especially multi-day trips. The campground is valley-bottom, so no soaring vistas over breakie (but Egypt lake is nice). CommentSorry Parks Canada - but you need to get your act together. Why are provincial parks run so much more efficiently? Get some trail pass machines at the trailheads, people!! Maybe I don't want to navigate Banff parking lots every time I want to go hiking! But thanks for allowing dogs.

UpsideScenery. Great ski as well. DownsideSalmonella (unrelated to the trail, I know). CommentI'd add Winter to the options for this trail. We skiied into here about 20 years ago on spring break from high-school. Spent most of the time running from the cabin to the outhouse as we had food poisoning. Had great weather, it was gorgeous.
