Bertha Falls is a popular family destination which starts from Waterton townsite. The trail follows around the contours of lofty Bertha Peak, which forms the backdrop for the townsite campgrounds.

This is a well travelled trail (especially on weekends), which offers excellent views down the full length of Waterton Lake. There are several strategically placed benches for those not accustomed to hiking.

At 1.5km, a spur branches off to the left for a viewpoint. Another 50m further, the Lakeshore Trail branches off to the left.

Soon after the trail starts to parallel Bertha Creek as it tumbles down between Bertha Peak and Mount Richards (on your left). There is a bridge at the falls across the creek. Follow the trail across the bridge for href=" http://www.trailpeak.com/index.jsp?cat=hike&con=trail&val=1621 " target="_blank"> Bertha Lake.

Directions:

Trailhead is well marked, on Evergreen St. in Waterton townsite, about 500m past Cameron Falls, across from serviced camping area.
