The trail from the parking location follows a woods road. There are indications that this is a private road but used by hunters and locals. This was most likely the path taken by the Dept. of Natural Resources when they catalogued this cave in their book. You may wish to get permission to use this road.

The 2 cave entrances are located at 45° 28.9014 W 065° 39.5810 and 45° 28.9044 W 065° 39.5680

You will need to use various woods roads to get near the cave entrances. The last 200m is bushwacking along the brook downhill to the destination.

For more information on this cave go to the New Brunswick Museum on Douglas Ave. in Saint John and ask for this publication: (1) Arseneault, S.P., Schroeder,J., Berube, D., and Albert,R. 1997. The Caves of Southwestern New Brunswick. New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy Open File 97-7.

Directions:

Drive to Upham and then take the Back River Rd. It will eventually turn to a dirt road, then more of a woods road (a bit rough in spots and definitely not a winter or early spring trip). Park at N 45° 28.746 W 065° 41.051 (Just look for the old rotted wood pile to the side of the road.) Park off the side of the road.

Downside tight squeze and sings of lots of animals inside the cave. luckely we didnt run into any. Comment These directions above should not be used by anyone who ownes a gps.Below are directions for someone who does not own one. Take the back river road as far as the first gate(if your vechile can make it).Park here hike on this the same road past another gate until u get to an x in the road.keep going straight. You will walk out into a feild that has a cottage in the middle of it Keep folowing the road through the feild. You will see a streem on your right hand side
.Follow this streem up and around the hill. They are about 100 meters from the feild uphill not downhill. On the directions above it says that you park at the wood pile? You are in barnsville. There are woodpiles everywheres and there is not one at the co-ordinates listed above but the two cave entrances are correct.ENJOY!
