This is one of the agate trails, it gains 1000ft to reach a rocky ridge. The hills are covered in a variety of green speckled rocks. View of the Carmacks area, Yukon river, Mt Nansen.
The trail is narrow and wet in places, and the bush is a bit overgrown. But the going gets easier as you approach the ridge where the views open up.
At Carmacks riverfront turn left and follow road past the Roadhouse and over the bridge. Turn left onto Mt Nansen road. This is a gravel road to a mine 62km away, but the trailhead is at the 4km point, where you can see a trailsign and a parking spot. The narrow trail starts next to the sign and is cut into the thick bush.
