ACCESS: off Stewart Road, off North Road in Gibsons
ROUTE: The ‘Sprockids Mountain Bike Park’ was created to provide riders, of all ages and abilities, access to trails that were designed and built for the sport of mountain biking. The park has been created totally by volunteers of all ages who put in hundreds of hours to create this first class recreational facility.
From the centre hub of the park, riders can access kilometre after kilometre of exciting trails. Different levels of riding will test technical abilities while biking through some truly majestic scenery.
The park is accessed from Stewart Road in upper Gibsons. Turn left up the dirt road which leads to the entrance of the park.
The park offers a variety of routes. On of the best is a 3 km loop with some challenging uphill, fast open trails through the woods, screaming downhill and a technical section along a creek bed with some fireroad leading back to the centre of the park. This route was used for the B.C. School Age Mountain Bike Series and the Sprockids Rockets Championship.

UpsideSome of the best trails take you far up the slopes of Mt. Elphinstone. One of my favorite loops is going up the Sidewinder up the mountain, then head west along the Hwy. 102 towards Robert's Creek. There are numerous trails that can be taken back down the mountain. They are all steep and a riot to ride. You can ride this area every day for months and never get bored. Do yourself a favour and check them out.
