A well maintained, and wheelchair-accessible, boardwalk runs along the Yukon River between the campground and a gazebo near the Carmacks Roadhouse. It is a half- hour stroll to walk the length of the boardwalk and enjoy beautiful views of the river and the mountains. A series of signs are located at along the way about the cultural and natural history of the area. The gazebo is a very pleasant place to rest. The boardwalk has a beautiful view of the Yukon River.

From the historic Roadhouse you can follow the Ridge trail over the hill back into town. Trail starts in the corner of the lawn at the Roadhouse. Views are good up there and stay high until near the highway. Then drop down to the streets back into town.

Nice lunch stop.
