Commanding views, solitude, and a touch of wilderness. 1.3 miles out - 1.3 miles back.

Directions:

Located in the northern part of Baxter State Park - the trailhead is at the Burnt Mountain Picnic Area which is located 13.8 miles west of the Matagamon Gatehouse and 8.8 miles north of the Nesowadnehunk Gatehouse on the Park Tote Road.

You get off the jumbo highway in Augusta, t hen travel NW towards Sugarloaf for 80 minutes or so. Worth it, but dont be fooled by the directions. Climb clean and safe. MD.
