Saddleback is one of the classic ridge-line hikes in the Appalachian Mountains. this climb is long and strenuous, especially when you make the trip over to the Horn, which can tack on another 3 miles to the trip. The views of the western Maine mountains are unmatched. Be mindful of the weather, as Saddleback's long, open summit ridge is very exposed. Also please stay on the trail. Many of the alpine plants on the summit are endangered and can only be found in a handful of places south of the arctic circle.
The trailhead can be found on Route 4 10 miles south or Rangeley
