Black Point trail offers stunning vistas of the Atlantic Ocean. This trail starts off moderate and follows the coastline in a southerly direction. You can wander from the trail and explore the huge granite bolders that glaciers left and also find tide pools to examine. The trails ends at Scarborough State Beach where an old foundation can also be examined. Please be VERY careful at the water's edge. People have slipped off the rocks in this area and drowned. Never attempt to walk on the black rocks below the tide line, these are very slippery. There is excellent fishing in this area for stripped bass and blue fish as well as Scup. Point Judith Lighthouse is just a few miles to the south.

Directions:

Route 1A R.I. Follow Ocean Road south. There is a free parking lot marked with a brown State of R.I. sign.
