Two names - one place. And what a special place this is. A stream pours off Hatch Hill at Hi Tor and forms this deep valley and waterfalls. You can hike the rim trail for a steep and strenuous 1.6-mile loop, or get your feet wet and creek walk up the gorge, climbing waterfalls as you go. This is one of the most challenging creek walks in the central & western NY region and not one to undertake if you're afraid of heights. I was glad I could creek walk up and follow the trail back down. It's more difficult (and scary) to climb down steep waterfalls.
Do not attempt the creek walk in spring when the water is high and fast. Even in summer, this is a challenging creek walk. Do it at your own peril.
Maps and details for the trails and creek walk can be found in the guidebooks "Take A Hike - Family Walks in New York's Finger Lakes Region" and "200 Waterfalls in Central & Western New York - A Finders' Guide" both available through EMS.
From Route 21 in Naples, turn east onto Route 245. Turn right onto Parish Hill Road and park on the right near a DEC sign.
