A short climb up Belknap Mountain provides a beautiful view of Lake Winnipesaukee
Turn off NH 11A at Gilford onto the Belknap Mountain Road, proceed south through the village. At 8 miles the road makes a left turn and climbs to the top of a ridge, at 1.3 miles it turns sharply right and continues south under the mountain slopes. At 2.4 miles from NH 11A, take a left onto the Carriage Road at a Belknap Mountain sign, Another sign warns you that the gate ahead is closed from 6 PM to 9AM.
