This backcountry hike is a rugged one with lots of rocky outcroppings. This mountain was believed to once be as tall as the Andes Mountains in South Africa. This is a one way hike so you will have to shuttle.
Take Park Central Road north from the visitors center, follow for several miles, turn right onto Foxville-Deerfield Road, follow for 1 mile, turn left onto Owens Creek Campground Road.
