This trail passes by the Bear Caves a series of boulders and rock slab that forms grottos that bears frequently hibernate in for the winter. It's a neat place to take the kids, as the Bear Caves are only about 1/4 of mile off the road. But the rest of the journey to Mt. Seneca is a moderate climb that may be too much for younger children but not too steep for the adventurous.
Located in the Quaker Area of Alleghany State Park the trailhead is on the north side of ASP # 3 between ASP#1 and ASP#2.
