A nice Cape Cod Trail near downtown Falmouth, MA. Begin at one of two trail heads at eather the back s/w corner or the n/w corner. roughly 4 miles +/- of trail system. Trails are well maintained and "double track" sized. This can be a popular hiking trail stystm for dog walkers and casual hikers. Mtn biking would not be worth while and would mostly be interruptive of the frequent hikers on the trail. Follow along different trails and gain access to a small pond edge or to the hospital just north of the wooded area. This is most fun for cross country skiing and needs merely 4" of good snow to get along most of the system. (just a few areas of rocks or roots that could interrupt your stride) Snowshoeing would need about 8 or more inches. This trail area is also fun for an ocascional trail run during off peak hours when there are less walkers. Quick drive (or walk) to downtown Falmouth for post hike activity.
South from Bourne bridge on rt 28. Follow through rotary onto where divided rt 28 becomes a two lane road. follow along then flow where sign for woods hole goes right (do not follow rt 28 that veers left) Turn right for 0.1 miles to large white Depot Ave, continue to end and go behind the theater to Cape Cod conservatory Parking Area. Two trail entrances off lot.
