This is a moderately steep hike, passing the common corner of the towns of Pittsfield, Lanesborough and Hankock. Berry Pond itself is located in Pittsfield State Forest. Berry Pond has an elevation of 2,060 feet which makes it the highest natural water elevation in Massachusetts. There are spectacular views into New York State and a fine display of Azaleas in the spring.

Directions:

Because of the 4 wheelers using some of the trail system- it can be confusing. Stop by the Pittsfield State Forest HQ for an updated map to make sure of your headings. Pick up the trail head at the Lulu Pond picnic area (parking) inside the state forest entrance. Take the Honwee Trail blazed in yellow.
