The Trail meanders along scenic St. John river. Trail Starts at Community Grounds at Nackawick. There is the big "Nackawick Axe" to symbolize that Nackawick was chosen "Forestry Capital of Canada". There are well maintained picnic sites . Swimming (at ones own risk) available . Canoeing is possible. The maintained gravel path leads to the trail head at the south end of the site. Signs are well posted. Just follow the trail and back. Total return is 4 km.
From Fredericton take TransCanada Highway 2 towards Edmundston. Take Exit 231 to Pokiok follow highway 105 towards north and go over the Bridge on St. John River. Follow the road for 3.5 km, Turn right to Landegger Drive just before the Irving gas station. Then road ends in a T- junction with Otis Drive. The "Big Axe" can be seen straight ahead . There is a small shopping mall on the right for basic necessities. Parking is at the site of "Big Axe " or at the Mall.
