Great network of trails located only an hour northeast of Ottawa accessible to hikers, back-country skiing and snowshoeing. The trails are located inside one of Canada's last old growth forests, in which some individual trees are over 500 years of age! The trails are very well maintained, vary in length from 0.5 to 6.0 km - lots of unique view points, interesting lakes, streams, wetlands. Even offer school programs! Central interpretation centre, with washrooms, information, and displays is open everyday all year round
Directions:
The interpretation centre is located at 300, Saddler Road in the municipality of Mayo (Quebec). To get there, from Ottawa, take highway 50 east to exit 174, then take highway 309 north to the junction of highway 315, then follow highway 315 for 14 km to the access road. Large brown "Reserve ecologique de la Foret-la-Blanche" signs located along the roads.
