The Broken Arch Loop is one of my favourite hikes in Arches National Park. You start of through a large open meadow to the arch and then you head to the campground. In the campground you can take in Skyline arch as well. From the campground you head through fin canyons and slick rock, which is just awesome. It also provides a nice reprieve from the sun. Also in this area you will likely be the only tourists wandering around; very nice when compared to some of the other areas. Total trail loop length is 4 kms and takes about 1 hour.
From the parking area, pick up the open trail to Broken Arch. Once done snapping some shots, keep following the trail through the campground to the amphitheater. Go through the amphitheater and you will come to skyline arch. Once done, make your way back and go to campsite #40, this where you pick up the trail again. Follow the trail along the slick rock through the fin canyons. The trail will merge with trail you came in on and take you back to your car.
Directions:
Make your way to Arches National Park. From the entrance station make your way along the road and after about 27 kms you see a sign for the Sand Dune and Broken Arch parking areas, park here.
Accommodations:
A lot of people in the MOAB area stay at condos managed by www.moabutahlodging.com, speak with Andrea. They offer a range of in town homes to budget and upscale condos.
