This trail takes you to Delicate Arch, Utah’s most famous arch and shouldn’t be missed. This trail is a moderate trail that involves ascending slick rock the entire time and just before you get to the arch you have to walk along a 6 foot ledge for a couple hundred feet. Nothing to worry about unless you are a deep sufferer of vertigo. The length of the hike is about 5 kms and takes about 1 hour, once again depending on how long you spend at the arch.
From the parking lot pick up the well trodden trail and stop in at the Wolfe Ranch, it’s on the way. Pretty soon the trail starts gaining elevation. Follow the rocks cairns on the slick rock for direction. After a while you will come the rock ledge, you are now very close to the arch. At the end of the ledge you will be greeted by Delicate Arch and fantastic views of the La Sal mountains. If you are planning to eat your lunch here, make your way closer to the arch, as crowds are fewer here.
Directions:
Make your way to Arches National Park. From the entrance station make a left at the first 3 way intersection (15 kms) and then head 4 kms to the next intersection and make a right. Then drive for 2 kms to the delicate arch parking area.

UpsideThe destination is unbeatable, and there's some good scenery along the way. DownsideLOTS of people. Hundreds at any given time. Good luck finding a parking spot after 9:00 am during peak season--we were there at 10:00 am and had to park quasi-illegally. This hike is extremely hot during the summer, as the sun beats down on the slickrock and back up at you. Very little shade along the way. CommentIt's the ultimate tourist hike, but I still love it. It doesn't matter how many people are there, Delicate Arch is an unbeatable destination. There are few areas that can compare with its beauty. Just be sure to avoid going June-August when it's hottest. May is less hot, but extremely busy.
