Whale Rock in Canyonlands National Park is a nice trail all along slick rock that takes you to a good viewpoint. The final section has metal railings to help you get up the steeper sections. It’s 1.5 kms long and takes about 30 minutes to complete.

From the parking area pick up the trail and follow it up the slick rock. Once on the slick rock, the steepness will increase. Handrails have been provided for your journey to the summit.

Directions:

Make your way to Canyonlands National Park and go in the Island in the Sky entrance way. From I70 it is 73 kms to the visitor centre. From the visitor centre head 10 kms to the intersection and veer right. Head along here for maybe 7 kms, look for the Whale Rock parking area on your right.
