The trail head begins from an old oilwell site, and is a well defind trail for the most part. After 7 kms. you reach a viewpoint of Wapiti falls, approx. 200metres from the main trail and well worth a rest and photo op. The trail follows along the Wapiti river and a few small lakes along the way. A good portion of this trail is in the open however there are a few sections that are within the forest.
Head east from Tumbler Ridge for 50kms. then turn right(south) onto the Wapiti Forest service road. Follow this road for 29kms. and turn right onto the old oil lease road and follow for about 1.5 kms. If you want to camp near by there is a forest service campsite 1 km past the 29km point.
