The trail begins following a gravel trail for a short time before going into the forest for a bit. The toughest climb is the middle part, and it gets to a gentle climb as it get closer to the top. There are some switchbacks on the way up. The views obviously get better too. Try not to fall off. Because part of the trail crosses private land, only hiking is allowed. Apparently the trail also is closed from early Nov. to early April, although im not certain about that.

The park is 5 km north of Enderby. Get off the highway and onto Mabel Lake road and follow it for 2km. Turn left on Brash-Allen and follow it until you reach a white fence. There is a hydro pole with a hiker sign on it that clearly points the way to the trail.

Beautiful forest with lots of cedar and birch/aspen. Wildflowers splendant with daisies, larkspur, lupen, lilies, honeysuckle. The trail is greatly revised from past years of straight-up-scramble, and is now generally a moderate climb for the fit (a difficult climb for the average tourist) with lots of switchbacks. I'm semi-fit, and it took me about 2hr15min to the top with a couple short rests, and almost 2 hours down stopping for lots of pictures.
It's been a rainy cool spring, and the mosquitoes made it difficult to take breaks! Not usually a problem.

Saw some small birds wizzing a good 60-70Km per hour or more over our heads, also saw a large Hawk playing in the wind. Great Views of the valley and river. It is a very steep hike, but fun to descend.
