A nice hike to a plateau and view points on the mountain east of Bug Lake on a trail made by outfitters and hunters. The grassy plateau has many caribou in the area, piles of antlers can be seen.
Follow Bug Lake trail to the far end of the lake. Turn right at the major horse trail, after following a maze of trails past the outfitter. This trail crosses a shallow grassy flat area to start climbing the other side. Keep left and follow the widest trail marked by blazed trees. It soon heads uphill - all the way to the ridge, and flat open meadows for a view of the valley. Can continue further on the plateau to the higher peaks north of here, and above Black Fox creek.
A round trip back to Cold Fish Lake can be made by descending to the creek and bushwhack back to the Black Fox creek trail.
Start at Cold Fish Lake, past the airstrip on the Bug lake trail, take it to the outfitter camp area and continue just to the right of the end of Bug lake across the flat grassy area.
