With a wonderful view overlooking Sooke Basin, the summit is favoured by hikers and bikers. On a clear day, Port Angeles is visible. Since this IS a hill route, expect steep inclines which can become slick when wet. In summer, pack water!
At the intersection of Hwy 14 and Otter Point Road, turn north and proceed to Burr Rd.Left on Petemar, then right on Blanchard. Parking at the end of Blanchard. Alternate start point - start at William Simmons Park on Otter Point Rd. Follow trail behind CRD building towards the forest for 300 metres. Markers on trees at the entrance to forest.
