Hike from Scottish Lakes Backountry Resort to Larch Lake, up and over Deadhorse pass and then down the Wildhorse and White Pine creek drainages. The ideal time for the hike is typically the 1st or 2nd week of October to get the larch trees at their peak color.
Contact http://www.scottishlakes.com -- the logging road to the trailhead is owned by Longview Fiber and is kept gated. The Scottish lakes resort has a permit to access the road and has overnight accomidations in their rustic cabins at high camp
